We herewith want to make a strong statement to all ISCT members, staff, pupils, parents, visitors, to feel encouraged to stand up for a cleaner environment.
LITTER MUST STOP. Do we not have bins around the school? We previously reported on new bins around the school area, which had in fact been built by ISCT pupils. Why then should anyone disrespect their very purpose?
Outside the Year 3 area we counted the amount of litter in a single square meter... And came to know that there were a SHOCKING 24 pieces of litter lying around, including a pencil, a plastic spoon and a Maths worksheet. A pencil!
Did we not have a stationery drive in Term 1 to help children at Zerilda Primary? What then is a PENCIL doing discarded unlovingly in the pond?
Amongst other items found there were water bottles still containing the original contents... Fresh bottled water. Are we SO spoilt that we cannot appreciate the value of anything? How can we throw valuable resources away when elsewhere in the world people are dying of dehydration and starvation?
This is why the LPC (Litter Police Control) are taking charge. The LPC is an initiative started last year by Year 4, now Year 5 pupils. Anytime a disposable lunch bag with a name on it is found, the owner shall be named and shamed - in KS2 terms moving to orange. If we find a packet three times with the same name the LPC will advocate a litter picking punishment. The school does NOT need to look like a dump!
Please clean up after yourselves!
